Remember that it’s a free app, so support isn’t guaranteed but is more of a favor to customers. If you encounter any challenges with Simplenote, there’s a dedicated support email you can contact and wait for a response from the company’s staff. Any digital layman should be able to navigate the app without difficulties. Its interface feels similar to a hardcopy notebook, minimal and uncluttered, but with unlimited space. There’s no limit on the number of people you can do this with. You can invite other users (through their email) to view or edit your notes. You don’t always have to log into the Simplenote app to check your notes when you can do that online.Īnother noteworthy feature that Simplenote offers is collaboration. This feature allows users to access their notes anywhere or share them with other people. Enter that link in a browser, and you’ll see your note as a webpage. After typing any note, you can publish it online and get a link for it. One great feature we noticed on the app is the ability to publish notes. This feature makes it easy for users to create and manage to-do lists. There is also the ability to add checklists to every note and mark them when done. With such a text editor, it’s very easy to focus on keeping notes and not get distracted.

On the bright side, this feature may be a plus for people who cherish simple things. It's not the easiest on users, which we consider a disadvantage. It doesn't provide a GUI for formatting text but you can use Markdown syntax, similar to what is used on Wikipedia, to make your text bold, italic, etc. The text editor on Simplenote is simple to a fault. I follow the official advice to block installing on an SD card apps that use widgets.

* Why do I advise to not install the app on an SD card? Since the 1.7.0 version the app will also use phone's device copy, if it's turned on in the device's and the app's settings. Please remember to make a backup copy of notes before formatting a phone or buying a new phone. Each task could be stored in a seperate note or one big todo note could be used.
Notes can be put on the home screen as reminders. A sort of digital planner to store shopping list or to organize the day. For example as a to do list to increase productivity. It may be obvious, but notes in the app can be used in many ways. * search function that can quickly find text in notes * lines in background, numbered lines in a note * backup function for saving and loading notes from a backup file (zip file) * notes widget allowing to quickly create or edit notes, working like post it notes (stick a memo to home screen) * importing notes from txt files, saving notes as txt files * no limits on note's length or number of notes (of course there's a limit to phone's storage) * simple interface that most of the users find easy to use Notepad is a small and fast notetaking app for making notes, memos, or just any plain text content.
